Sterling, Kan.— The Spire men earned a 4-0 road victory over the Sterling College Warriors on Saturday, using another outing showcasing a steady lineup performance in both doubles and singles to secure the seventh straight KCAC win.

Starting off strong, USM produced two counted doubles wins. At No. 2 doubles, Priestley and Maritz teamed for a 6-3 victory over Pedro Felipoff and Rubem Bogomoltz. At No. 3 doubles, Mateo Dargel Argote and Grimaldi turned in one of the most dominant results of the day, a 6-0 win for the Spires. The first doubles match was officially recorded as a 5-4 result in favor of the Spires.

Moving on to an equally successful second half of the morning, Carlos Grimaldi, Evan Maritz and Korbin Priestley each delivered singles victories for USM. Grimaldi won at No. 2 singles, 6-2, 6-0, while Maritz dominated at No. 3 with a 6-0, 6-0 result. Priestley added another straight-set win at No. 4 singles, closing out Kazuki Fukushima 6-0, 6-4. The Spires would go up 4-0 to clench the contest.

The Spires' top performers contributed in multiple spots. Grimaldi did the same, pairing his No. 2 singles win with the shutout result in No. 3 doubles alongside Dargel Argote.

The men's tennis team is thrilled to announce that the Spires have moved to No. 18 in the national ITA Rankings, the highest team ranking in program history. To add even more excitement, the duo of Nudem Koyuncu and Nils Dueppe are ranked No. 30 in the nation in doubles play.
