FAYETTE, Mo. – The University of Saint Mary women's wrestling team battled, but fell 22-12 against Central Methodist University Wednesday night on the road.
The Spires are now 0-3 overall and 0-1 KCAC.
Central Methodist got off to a 10-0 start after a forfeit at the 116-pound weight class, and a tech fall at the 123-pound weight class. Mattea Potter would then pick up a win for Saint Mary after defeating Da'Viona Bonner.
At the 143-pound weight class, Charlis Vega picked up the second win of the night for the Spires after she handled Andrea Montoya. In the next match, Jassmin Blount took down Treasure Smith for the Spires final win of the night.

Saint Mary is back in action this Sunday, as they will travel to Ottawa, Kan. to compete in the Easy Flex Open.
