Poteau, Okla.- The University of Saint Mary Women's Wrestling team traveled to compete in the Viking Open on Saturday.

The Spires had multiple wrestlers reach the championship rounds, including Angie Rediger(109), Alexsys Jacquez(109), Alisha Van Scoy(130), Ariana Mercado(143), and April Penn(235). Pen and Rediger made it to their respective final rounds for a shot at an individual championship. Rediger was forced to take a loss after running out of injury time. Penn, on the other hand, won the women's 235 championship after beating her opponent by fall for the win.
