Lincoln, Neb.- The University of Saint Mary Women's Swimming team traveled to take on Nebraska Wesleyan for a team dual on Saturday, resulting in a narrow 132-128 loss.
Saint Mary won six total events throughout the dual, and Ayla Pierce got them on the board first by winning the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:05.15. Sarah Smith followed Pierce with a 1:04.69 in the 100-yard backstroke, which was also good enough for first place. Reagan Salsbury made it three consecutive events with wins for the women's team after taking first in the 100-yard breaststroke event. Salsbury won her second event of the day in the 50-yard freestyle sprint with a time of 25.89 seconds. Reagan Baird had the Spires' fifth win of the dual in the 200-yard butterfly event, swimming a 2:24.59. Olivia Ringle had the sixth and final win for Saint Mary, coming in the 500-yard freestyle; Ringle swam a 5:39.75. However, more than these wins were needed to get past the Prairie Wolves.
