Kansas City, Mo.- The University of Saint Mary Women's Tennis team hosted John Brown University at their Clayview indoor site, resulting in a 4-3 win for Saint Mary. The Spires are now 1-4 in team duals this year.
Doubles
The pair of Shannon Finn and Mia Rojas gave the Spires their first match win, beating their opponents 6-3. A loss in the third group made the match featuring Tracy Llamas and Cortlyn Wolfe a winner-take-all. Wolfe and Llamas were able to close the door on John Brown, winning 6-4 and taking the lone doubles point.
Singles
Wolfe also won her singles match, beating her opponent in two sets, 6-0 and 6-4. Saint Mary did drop three singles matches, giving John Brown a 3-2 lead heading into the last two singles matches. Rojas and Taimane Cajudoy came up big for the Spires, winning their singles matches to give Saint Mary their first team dual win of the year.
