Wichita, Kan.- The University of Saint Mary Competitive Cheer team competed in the KCAC Cheer and Dance Championships on Friday hosted by the Friends Falcons.
Saint Mary entered the competition with an average score of 92.07, the highest average of any KCAC school and the fifth highest in the nation.
In their first routine of the day, the Spires scored a 93.4, putting them in a great position to win the championship. Their second routine was scored at 93.06, which helped them secure their first KCAC Championship in program history.

The Spires will compete at the 2024 NAIA National Championship meet starting at 4 p.m. on March 29 in Ypsilanti, Michigan.
