MARYVILLE, MO. – The University of Saint Mary men's indoor track and field team showcased impressive performances during their latest competition, highlighted by multiple podium finishes from key athletes. Competing against a strong field, the Spires displayed their depth and talent across various events.
In the 200 Meters, Karlos Humphreys delivered an outstanding performance, securing 2nd place with a time of 22.24 seconds. His speed on the track demonstrated his readiness as he continues to make strides towards peak performance this season.
The 800 Meters saw two Spires turning in commendable results. Senior Liam Neidig led the way with a solid finish time of 1:56.54, while fellow senior Luis Perez closely followed with a time of 1:57.02. Both athletes exhibited remarkable endurance and tactical racing to secure competitive times in this demanding middle-distance event.
The action continued in the Men's 1000 Meters, where Liam Neidig again stood out, capturing 1st place with an impressive time of 2:28.31, achieving an NAIA B standard qualification along the way—an indication that he is well on his way to making significant contributions as they approach championship season. Tommy Baker was hot on his heels, finishing just behind Neidig in 2nd place at 2:28.34, also hitting that same NAIA B standard mark, showcasing their depth within this distance category. Luis Perez rounded out strong performances for St. Mary (Kan.) in this event as well, finishing 3rd with a time of 2:29.07.
Lastly, in the grueling event of the day—the 3000 Meters—Tommy Baker once again proved his mettle by clocking a remarkable time of 8:38.73, while teammate Daniel Pantoja crossed the line shortly after at *8:48.49*—both contributing solid efforts to further demonstrate the Spires strength in longer distances.
