LEAVENWORTH, Kan. - The University of Saint Mary's men's track and field team delivered a series of strong performances at their recent outdoor meet, showcasing both speed and endurance, ultimately securing an 8th place overall finish. With several notable individual achievements, the Spires demonstrated their competitive spirit against a field of talented athletes.
Sprint Success and Hurdles Highlights
Karlos Humphreys delivered a standout performance, securing a first-place finish in the 400-meter dash with a time of 48.46 seconds. Karlos Humphreys also placed 7th in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.07 seconds.
Mid-Distance Dominance
In the 800-meter race, Liam Neidig delivered an impressive performance, finishing second with a time of 1:55.25. Jonah Godina also had a strong showing, clocking in at 1:59.83.
Tommy Baker led the Spires in the 1500-meter race, finishing second with a time of 3:55.50, followed closely by Dominick Beine in sixth place with a time of 3:57.09.
Endurance Excellence
Dominick Beine secured a third-place finish in the 5000-meter race with a time of 14:47.78.
Daniel Pantoja continued to impress in the 3000-meter steeplechase, securing a first-place finish with a time of 9:39.18.
Relay and Field Events
In the relay events, the Spires' 4x800 team, featuring Luis Perez, Jonah Godina, Tommy Baker, and Liam Neidig, took first place with a time of 7:52.76.
In the field events, Robert Hennig achieved notable results: Discus: 7th place with a distance of 41.12 meters.
