Isai Fernandez enters his eighth year of coaching and his fourth season as the Wide Receivers Coach at the University of Saint Mary.


Fernandez has a unique connection to the Spires program, having spent both his playing and coaching career at USM.
As a player, Fernandez was a four-year starter at wide receiver for the Spires from 2013–2017. He earned KCAC Honorable Mention honors in 2017.

Following his playing career, Isai continued his education at the University of Saint Mary, earning his undergraduate degree in Psychology in 2018. He returned to USM to pursue his master’s degree in School Counseling, which he completed in 2026.
