KANSAS CITY, Mo.–The University of Saint Mary's very own, Brody Gee, ranked No. 4 at 125, has added to his long list of accomplishments by earning the honor of NAIA Men's Wrestler of the Week. Brody had a monstrous weekend at the Missouri Valley Invite, claiming first place in his weight class and earning the Most Outstanding Wrestler Award, only given to one wrestler in the entire meet.
The No. 16 Spires finished seventh out of 61 teams at the event, with Gee aiding the team with 26.5 points alongside his first-place finish. The dominant senior went 3-0 at the tournament, trumping No. 3 Haden Hernandez by decision, No. 5 Anthony Hughes by decision, and No. 18 Robert Albert by fall (1:05).
The USM men are back on the mat on Thursday, February 5th at 6 p.m. as they travel to Ottawa University to battle the Braves.
