Ottawa, Kan.—The #16 Spire men and (RV) Spire women's wrestling traveled to Ottawa University yesterday Thursday, February 5
th as they took on the #11 OU women and the (RV) Brave men's wrestling squads.
Both the men's and women's sides were light on matches, but the men made the most of their competitions with a victory over OU winning 39-6 with the women falling 5-41 in Wilson Field House.
Eyvori Jacquez fell in the 117lb. weight-class to Saporito by tech fall. In the 138lb. weight-class,
Skylur Lewis was defeated by fall to OU's Lester.
Allison King was defeated in the 145lb. weight-class by Flores of the Braves. Finally,
Kristal Zamora was defeated by tech fall in the 160lb. weight-class to Weidl.
Orinn Hubbard in the 184lb. weight-class lost by decision to the Braves Jaelyn Sides and
Devon Lolar was taken down by decision from Ewell with a final of 1-4.
Coming up, the USM men's squad will travel to Baker University to dual the Wildcats tomorrow Saturday, February 7
th with matches set for 1:00 p.m. while the women will be headed to the Grand View Open in Des Moines, Iowa with matches set to begin at 9:00 a.m. Follow along with USM women's wrestling in Iowa here at
