Steeli Norton has the Spires Spotlight this week. Norton is a senior from Pocatello, Idaho. She has been a major contributor to the Lady Spires Softball team's early season success. Last week, Norton earned Softball Pitcher of the Week in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference.

Head Softball Coach Michael Evans had this to say about Norton. "Steeli works incredibly hard. She is a good teammate, a good student, and a great player. To see everything she has put into her game result in an award like this makes me very happy for her. She's our number one pitcher and when she's successful it's a big part of what makes us a tough team."

Norton appeared twice for Saint Mary against Missouri Valley this week, earning two wins. In the first game, Norton pitched five innings allowing one run (earned) on five hits. During the second game, Norton threw seven innings allowing four runs (one earned) on seven hits. Saint Mary won the games 10-1 and 10-4. Norton ended the week with a 1.13 ERA and three strikeouts.
