Saint Mary women's basketball took a 78-43 exhibition loss to Pittsburg State on Wednesday. The Spires will play in another exhibition game on Thursday Dec. 31 against Northwest Missouri State. Saint Mary returns to NAIA action on Saturday Jan. 2 when they host Avila at 2pm.

Imani Dixon was the leading scorer for the Spires in the loss. Dixon scored 12 points making all seven of her free throw attempts in the game. Imani White scored nine points for Saint Mary. Jessica McAdams had a team high four rebounds.

Pittsburg State used a 21-12 first quarter advantage to open the game and outscored the Spires in every quarter on their way to the 78-43 win.
