The Saint Mary women's basketball team took an 89-43 loss at Tabor on Wednesday night at Tabor. The loss drops the Spires to 5-6 overall and 2-4 in KCAC play.
The Spires got out to a slow start with just 10 points in the first quarter and 18 total points in the first half. Tabor would hold a 13 point lead by the end of the first quarter and never looked back. Saint Mary managed just 43 points in the game which is their season low.
A cold shooting night plagued the Spires as they shot 15 for 60 from the floor for just 25%. Saint Mary shot 14% from three point range as well. It was the lowest shooting percentage from the field and three point range on the season for the Spires. The Blue Jays were red hot shooting 64% from the field and almost 70% from three point range. Their 89 points was a season high as a team.
Kelsey Switzer had a team high eight points. Candy De Los Reyes led Saint May in steals with three. Aerreon Parker and Kiera Tate both led the Spires in rebounds with three each.
The Spires return home on Saturday when they host Bethel at 3pm in the Ryan Sports Center. Bethel is 4-8 on the season and 0-6 in KCAC play.
