Saint Mary Women Advance to KCAC Semifinals

Saint Mary women's basketball won their 13th straight game with a 72-50 victory over Sterling in the KCAC Quarterfinals on Thursday night in the Ryan Sports Center. The Spires advance to the KCAC Semifinals to take on Tabor College.

The Spires jumped out to an 18-11 lead after the end of the first quarter. Sterling would trim the lead to six points by halftime, but Saint Mary would use a 21-9 advantage in the third quarter to take control of the game. Saint Mary would push their lead out to 24 points in the fourth quarter before taking the 22 point victory.

Three Spires scored in double figures in the win. Imani White led the way with 15 points, 13 rebounds, seven blocks, six assists and four steals. Candy De Los Reyes scored 14 points. Kelsey Switzer added 10. Cassidy Harbert scored nine points. Ashley Hinkle finished with six assists and seven points.

Saint Mary will travel to Hillsboro for their KCAC Semifinal matchup at Tabor. The Spires bested the Bluejays in Hillsboro in their most recent meeting earning a 76-71 win in overtime on January 28.
