Baseball Swept by #10 Tabor in KCAC Opener

The Saint Mary baseball team was swept by #10 Tabor in their opening series of KCAC play. Tabor won game one 15-10, game two 14-3, and game three 20-4.

The Spires best chance came in the first game of the series as they led 10-7 in the eighth inning. Tabor would erupt for eight runs in the last two innings of the game to earn the 15-10 victory.

Jordan Wilkerson and Jeremy Melvin each had two hits in the game. Andrew Berry, Guillermo Loera, and Wilkerson all homered. Juan Gallardo and Isaias Pulido each had doubles.

The Spires could not stop Tabor's offense in the final two games of the series. Shun Tsunoda picked up two hits to lead the offense in game two. Gallardo also hit his first home run of the season. Wilkerson went deep for the second time on the weekend to lead off in the third game. Wilkerson also doubled in the game.

Saint Mary will be back in action on Tuesday at 3pm when they travel to take on Columbia in a double header. Columbia is 11-7 on the season.
