Women's Soccer Slips to (RV) Ottawa

LEAVENWORTH, Kan. – The University of Saint Mary women's soccer team fell at home at Berkel Memorial Stadium on Saturday evening against Ottawa University, 3-1.

Saint Mary is now 2-11 overall and 2-6 in KCAC play.

Saint Mary had trouble in the first half with Ottawa having the ball the majority of the time. Ottawa had nine shots on goal and one goal by Leigh Anne Bartlett in the first half. Emilie Korenek had a total of eight saves in the first half, including halting the Braves' offense by saving two back to back shot attempts a minute apart in the 36th and 37th minute.

In the second half, Ottawa scored two more goals in the 53rd and 59th minute both by Brooke Mays. Leaving the Spires at 3-0. Justine Brown-DaCosta scored on a penalty kick for the Spires in the 74th minute of the game. Korenek added one more save to make it a total of nine saves in the full game.
