Kansas City, Mo. – The University of Saint Mary men's soccer team earned a 2-1 victory on the road against Avila University Tuesday afternoon.
GAME FLOW
The Spires started off quickly scoring a goal in the 15th minute by Kevin Garcia and in the 21st minute by Jay Willcutt. The Spires held the lead of 2-0 until the 78th minute when the Eagles got on the board after a goal by Jackson Ozburn. The Spires would hold on until the very end of the game for the victory.
The Spires had a total of 11 shots and the Eagles had a total of 17 shots in the whole game. Rodney Smith led Saint Mary with three total shots followed by Greg Fiorentino and Fabian Carlon with a total of two. Blake Kuehl had a total of six saves as goalkeeper in the game.
