Women's Basketball Comes Up Short To Friends

Leavenworth, Kan. – The University of Saint Mary women's basketball team slipped to Friends Saturday night in Ryan Sports Center after leading by as many as 20 points. The Spires are now (1-4, 0-2 KCAC) after a 70-62 loss to the Falcons.

GAME FLOW
The Spires shot well in the first half where they shot over 48.0 percent from the field. Paige Scheckel went 5-for-10 from the field and ended the night will 13 points. Tiani White went 6-for-9 and 2-for-3 from the three-point line. Saint Mary led 31-26 at the half and was able to pull away by as many as 20 before Friends came back. Friends would take the lead 52-50. The score would go back and forth the rest of the way, before the Falcons secured an eight point win over the Spires.

  • The Spires forced Friends to 15 turnovers.
  • Danielle Cassady had seven assists
  • White had 17 points and Scheckel had 13 points
  • The Spires had 16 assists on the night

The Spires are back on the road where they will travel to Bartlesville, Okla. to take on Oklahoma Wesleyan University. Tip-off is Tuesday, Nov 20 at 6 p.m.
