SALINA, Kan. – It was a tough outing for the University of Saint Mary men's basketball team as Kansas Wesleyan used a big run in the first half to run past the Spires, 84-48 Wednesday evening.
Saint Mary is now 3-6 overall and 3-3 in the KCAC.
GAME FLOW
The Spires kept pace with the Coyotes in the early going, trailing just 17-11 10 minutes into the first half, as Raylon Howard and DeMonte Sims had scored the team's last six points. Kansas Wesleyan then built their lead to as much as 44 points, at 44-20 at halftime.
Kansas Wesleyan continued their hot shooting in the second half and would extend the lead further. The Spires hit just 10 of their 30 total shots in the second half, while Kansas Wesleyan went 16-of-31 from the floor.
