In the bottom of the inning, Saint Mary sacrificed Maddie Barron to third with the first out. After a tapper back to the pitcher for the second out, Alana Renshaw send a single to left field to score Barron and give Saint Mary the 6-5 win.
Haley Reece led the offense with three hits in the win. Lindsey Fishman, Kaila Trowbridge, and Renshaw each had two hits. The Spires finished with six runs on 12 hits and had six RBI.
In game two, Paige Siewert tossed a complete game allowing just three runs for the Spires. Southwestern scored one run in each of the first three innings to lead 3-0 before Saint Mary answered with a run in the bottom of the third to make it 3-1. Three more runs from Saint Mary in the fifth would be all they needed to earn the 4-3 victory.

The softball team will be back in action at York on Wednesday in a double header beginning at 3pm.
