LINDSBORG, Kan. – The University of Saint Mary women's basketball team fell 75-45 tonight to Bethany College on the road inside Ray D. Hahn Gymnasium.
The Spires drop to 2-9 overall and 2-5 in the KCAC on the season.
Saint Mary got out to an 8-5 lead after Nese Selepeo hit a three-point shot, just over three and a half minutes into the first quarter. Bethany would close the gap by going on a 9-5 run to end the period and took a 17-13 lead. The Spires fought back in the second quarter to tie the game at 19, but the Swedes got hot after and went on a 10-0 run and eventually took a 34-22 lead into the locker room.
Bethany's run would continue in the third and fourth quarters as they ballooned their lead to 20 points three minutes into the third. The Spires struggled offensively and Bethany would run away in the end, outscoring the Spires 41-23 in the second half.
Macy Walker etched double-figures on the night with 10 points, as well as a team high seven rebounds. Sina Selepeo finished second on the team with six rebounds.
