Baseball Falls To Southwestern Sunday

WINFIELD, Kan.- The University of Saint Mary baseball team ended their weekend series with Southwestern with a loss on Sunday afternoon, falling 16-6.

The Spires are now 5-10 overall and 3-7 KCAC.

GAME FLOW
The Spires got on the board first after a single to left-center by Matt Ladd knocked in Gilbert Rondon. Southwestern responded by scoring three runs to go up 3-1.

In the top of the sixth inning with the two outs, the Spires rallied to score four runs and led 6-3. Southwestern however, would get hot at the plate and score 13 unanswered runs to secure the win.

Ladd went 2-for-4 at the plate and had one RBI. Daunte Freeman went 1-for-4 at the plate and led the team with two RBI's.

Braden Ash took the win on the mound for Southwestern. Brandon Spann took the loss on the mound for Saint Mary.

WHATS AHEAD FOR THE SPIRES
Saint Mary will travel to Atchison, Kan. this Wednesday, where they will take on Benedictine College in a non-conference game. The game is set to start at 2:30 pm.
