LEAVENWORTH, Kan – The University of Saint Mary baseball team took on York College Tuesday afternoon in a doubleheader, which had been rescheduled from Feb. 23 due to inclement weather. The Spires were able to grab one of two from the Panthers winning 3-1 and falling 7-3.
The Spires are now 8-16 overall and 6-10 in the KCAC.
The Spires and Panthers each scored three runs in the first inning of game one. Daunte Freeman hit a big double down the left field line to bring around Matt Ladd and would later score on an error from York. Later in the inning, Oscar Osorio singled to right-center field – scoring Antonio Valentin.
