HILLSBORO, Kan. – The University of Saint Mary men's basketball team snapped a four-game KCAC losing streak with a 64-55 win over Tabor College, which resulted in head coach Troy Brown's 100th career win at the school Wednesday night.
The Spires are now 9-7 overall and 5-7 in the KCAC.
Both teams battled in the first half with Saint Mary clinging to a 26-25 lead at halftime. Raylon Howard would open up the second half with a three-pointer and later hit a basket and converted a free throw giving the Spires a 36-32 lead.
USM's lead would grow to seven points after a basket from Lavar McCullough with 5:53 left. Tabor would trim the deficit to two points later, but the Spires kept their composure and closed the game out on a 6-2 run, as Brad Hailey and Christian Carmichael scored the final points for the Spires.
Howard led the team with 19 points, while McCullough and Hailey each had 12. McCullough also led the team with eight rebounds.
