OTTAWA, Kan. – The No. 16 University of Saint Mary women's wrestling team handled Ottawa on the road Saturday night, with a 24-19 final score.
The Spires are now 2-7 overall and 1-1 in the KCAC.
The Braves took a 4-1 lead early after a tech fall. Brianna Mancillas won with an 8-4 decision over Alessia Cokeley to make the score 5-4. After four straight forfeits, Saint Mary trailed 15-14.
Ottawa regained the lead after Lyric Gonsalves won by tech fall over Charlis Vega. Megan Dougherty tied things up 19-19 after a forfeit victory at the 170-pound weight class. April Penn then sealed the win for the Spires with a win by fall over Maranda Dornan.

The Spires will travel Fremont, Neb. on Feb. 21 to take on Midland University in their final KCAC dual of the season before the conference tournament.
