Leavenworth, Kan. – The University of Saint Mary women's soccer team took on Tabor College at home Saturday afternoon. The Spires were unable to find their offense as they fell 2-0.
The Spires now sit at 1-2 overall.
The contest got off to a fast start as both teams had early chances in the first 15 minutes, as fans were unsure who would score the first goal. The Spires out shot the BlueJays two shots to one in the first half. Play was balanced for the last 30 minutes.
After the deadlocked first half Tabor came out and scored two goals in the first ten minutes.This put all of the hard work in front of the Spires who were looking at the rest of the second half to try and find the equalizing goals.
The Spires had a small surge of offense shortly after the second goal was scored by Tabor. This attack was short lived as Saint Mary was held to only one shot in the second half.
