LEAVENWORTH, Kan. – The University of Saint Mary women's soccer team fell to Ottawa University at Charles J. Berkel Memorial Stadium on Saturday afternoon, 4-0.
The Spires are now 1-4 overall on the season.
Ottawa got on the board early, within the first two minutes. Megan McMillen would get a crack at the net with 18:22 left in the first half, but her shot would sail just wide. Ottawa built on their lead in the first half going up 2-0 at the 7:58 mark.
The Braves would capitalize in the second half with another two quick goals in the first 20 minutes of the second half, to go up 4-0. The Spires' offense tried to get things going in the second half, but Ottawa's defense held down the fort to complete the shutout.
Taylor Swofford led the team with two total shots, while Emilie Korenek recorded two saves.
