Spires Bested By Ottawa

Leavenworth, Kan. - The University of Saint Mary baseball team fell against Ottawa, 7-4.

Saint Mary is now 3-24 overall and 3-15 in the KCAC.

The Braves came out to an early lead and mashed three home runs against the Spires to lead in the top of the third, 5-0. The Spired looked for a comeback and were able to cut the deficit by three in the bottom of the fourth thanks to a two run RBI single to right field by Francisco Villarreal, 5-2. The Braves were able to answer back in the top of the sixth and scored just one run, 6-2. The Spired looked to turn things around and were able to add two more runs in the bottom of the sixth thanks to a two run RBI single by Oscar Osorio, 6-4. The Braves rallied together in the top of the seventh and were able to score one more run, 7-4. The Spires were able to add a couple more hits but were unable to add more runs and fell against Ottawa, 7-4.

Osorio and Villarreal each collected three hits and two RBIs for the Spires.
