Kaylani Hoskin hit a shot to bring the quarter to a close, with Saint Mary on top 27-16. The second quarter featured strong defensive play by both teams. Midway through the quarter Tanea Sims and Mary Olson helped USM extend the Spire lead to ten. A late extended scoring run by Friends gave them the lead heading into halftime with the score at 43-42.

Johnson and Delgado scored multiple times to give Saint Mary a 56-49 lead to begin the third quarter. The Spires went on a run of their own to make it a six-point game as the quarter closed. Saint Mary looked to close out the game to start the fourth as Demi Aamold and Pendley hit back-to-back shots to go up by 12 on the Falcons. Strong defensive play by the Spires made it difficult for the Falcons to get anything going offensively, as Saint Mary won 84-66.
