Leavenworth, KS- The University of Saint MAry Baseball team took on nationally ranked Tabor College in their series finale on Sunday and lost by a score of 10-2.
In the final game of the weekend, the Spires found themselves tied 1-1 with the Blue Jays after the early innings. Starter Payton Garvin worked well into the middle innings of the game. Then, in the fifth, the Tabor offense began to piece together hits and went up 5-1 on the Spires, forcing Garvin out of the game. Saint Mary would then give up one run in the sixth and four more in the eighth to go down 8-1. In the bottom half of the eighth, the Spires would score one more run on a Jack Knutson homerun. Offensively the Spires were led by Knutson who went one for three with a home run and Brendan Roop went two for four with an RBI.
