Ottawa, Kan.- The University of Saint Mary Women's Flag Football team traveled to take on the Ottawa Braves in a mid-week KCAC matchup, resulting in a 68-0 loss. The Spires are now 0-4 overall and 0-4 in the conference.
Ottawa opened the scoring with the first drive of the game, going 55 yards in six minutes. On the ensuing drive, Saint Mary turned the ball over on third down, which was returned for a touchdown, giving the Braves a quick 14-0 lead. The Spires were able to move the ball down the field, but the drive stalled around midfield, and they were forced to punt. Ottawa was able to score four more times in the second quarter to make it a 41-0 game at the half.
The Spires went three and out to open the second half, and Ottawa answered with another touchdown. Saint Mary was able to hold the Braves from scoring twice in the quarter but game up one final touchdown before heading into the fourth quarter. Ottawa ended the game with two more touchdowns to make the final score 68-0.
