Leavenworth, Kan.- The University of Saint Mary Men's Wrestling team hosted Bethany College for a team dual on Thursday, resulting in a 54-0 win. The Spires now hold a 6-3 team dual record on the year.
Each team left the 125 weight class open, and the Spires amassed 24 team points throughout the dual due to the Swedes leaving four weight classes vacant. Hartwell Taylor (141) won the first head-to-head match of the night by fall with under thirty seconds to go in the first period. In the next two matches, Braden Headington (165) and Gabe Chesbro (185) also won by fall, giving Saint Mary a 42-0 lead. Ryker Blackburn (197) and Conner Owens (285) finished the night on a high note, winning their matches by fall and giving the Spires a 54-0 win.
