Saint Mary Women's Soccer Secures Senior Night Victory Over Tabor

LEAVENWORTH, KAN. - The University of Saint Mary women's soccer team celebrated Senior Night with a hard-fought 2-1 comeback win against Tabor College. The Spires trailed 1-0 at halftime but rallied in the second half to earn the victory.

Tabor struck first in the 24th minute when Haven Deckinger, assisted by Josie Simpson, found the back of the net. Despite trailing at the break, Saint Mary continued to press, outshooting Tabor 15-8 throughout the match. The Spires' persistence paid off in the 59th minute when Sadie Dipman-Hayward scored the equalizer, assisted by Josie Hallier.

With the momentum on their side, the Spires kept up the pressure, and Dipman-Hayward capitalized again in the 78th minute, scoring her second goal of the night unassisted. Her two goals were the difference, marking a memorable Senior Night performance. Both teams were level in fouls (8 each), and Saint Mary led in corner kicks, creating consistent offensive opportunities. The Spires' defense held steady to preserve the 2-1 win, backed by five saves.

The Spires are now 7-6-1 overall with a 5-4 conference record. They will host Oklahoma Wesleyan Wednesday October 25th at 5pm.
