Saint Mary Women's Soccer Wins 2-1 at Bethel

LEAVENWORTH, KAN. - The University of Saint Mary's women's soccer team secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory on the road against Bethel College. After trailing 1-0 at halftime, the Spires mounted an impressive second-half comeback to claim the win.

Bethel took an early lead with a goal by Madison Davis in the 16th minute, leaving Saint Mary searching for an equalizer. The Spires found their breakthrough in the 60th minute when forward Nanako Hallier scored an unassisted goal to level the match. Just over a minute later, midfielder Josie Hallier put Saint Mary ahead with another unassisted strike, which proved to be the decisive goal.

Saint Mary outshot Bethel 15-11, with 12 of those shots coming in the second half as they pressed to overturn the deficit. Marisol Vargas was strong in goal, making five crucial saves to keep the Spires in the game. Despite receiving a late yellow card, Rebecca Lord contributed to a solid defensive effort that stifled Bethel's attack in the second half.
