EDMOND, OKLA. – The University of Saint Mary Men's and Women's Swimming team had an outstanding performance at the Eagle Invite this weekend, showcasing their talents with remarkable achievements over three days of competition. The team broke new ground with 31 NAIA B cuts achieved by 13 different swimmers, highlighting the depth and skill present within the program. Additionally, five school records were shattered during the event.
Key Performances:
Ayla Pierce stood out with B cuts in the 200 IM (2:12.51), 100 Fly (58.81), 200 Fly (2:15.22), 100 Free (54.75), and 200 Free (1:56.83), demonstrating her versatility and speed across multiple events.
Luke Taylor excelled in distance freestyle events, earning B cuts in the 500 Free, 1650 Free, 200 Fly (1:59.83), and an impressive 400 IM performance that set a new school record (4:14.97).
Blake Jorgens broke his own records in the 50 Free (20.74), 100 Free (45.91), and 100 Breast (56.49), claiming B cuts in all three events, showcasing his sprinting prowess.
Olivia Ringle made a significant impact in the distance freestyle events, achieving B cuts in the 200 Free, 500 Free (school record of 5:19.97), and 1650 Free.
Taya Swarts, Ian Lucas, Matt Hall, Reagan Salsbury, Maria Trotta, Mayson Thiebaud, Gavin Wagner, Sania Cay, and Jake Huisman all contributed to the team's success with B cut performances across various events, showing the team's depth and talent.
