Men's Soccer fall to the Braves in Home Conference Opener

LEAVENWORTH, KAN. - The University of Saint Mary men's soccer team suffered a 2-0 loss to Ottawa University in their conference home opener. After a competitive first half that ended 0-0, both teams had their share of possession, but neither could break through before the break.

Ottawa struck early in the second half, with Jevan Purcell-Jackson scoring in the 48th minute to put the visitors ahead. He followed up just minutes later by assisting another goal in the 55th minute, extending Ottawa's lead to 2-0.

Though the game remained well-balanced, USM struggled to capitalize on their chances, while Ottawa made the most of their offensive opportunities. Despite a solid effort, the Spires were unable to mount a comeback, leading to a tough 2-0 defeat in their first conference match.
