Conway, Ark.—The University of Saint Mary men's and women's swimming had a dominant weekend in Arkansas, facing off against Hendrix College and Austin College. On the first day of competition, USM took 1
st overall on team rankings with the Spire women handily taking 1
st place with a total of 394 points, while the men snagged 2
nd with 350 points on Friday evening.
As day two got underway, USM again remained dominant taking 1
st overall yet again tallying up a remarkable 1278 points, with the next closest competitor, Hendrix College, only totaling 669 points. On Saturday both men's and women's teams swept the rankings both taking the top spot with the women scoring 820 points and the men bringing home the top placement in dramatic fashion, coming from behind in the final two events to take the win.
 
A few top finishers for the Spire men throughout the weekend, men's 3x100-yard backstroke took 2
nd place with a relay team consisting of 
John Barger, 
Silas Kirchoff, and Nicky Allison with a time of 3:01.14. First place finish in 3x100-yard breaststroke relay with swimmers 
John Paul Robertson, 
Mayson Thiebaud, and 
Ian Hein completing a finals time of 3:10.40. Another first-place finish in the 400-yard medley relay with swimmers 
Ian Lucas, 
Ayden McFarren, 
Brandon Kendall, and 
Nathan Troth finishing with an impressive time of 3:45.68, and again coming out on top in the 400-yard medley relay 100 IM x4 with familiar names

Spire women had huge performances all weekend, taking 1
st in the first event of the day in the women's 3x100-yard butterfly relay with swimmers 
Ayla Pierce, MaryBeth Clark, and 
Leah Rogers clinching the top spot with a time of 3:10.66, with the next closest squad (Austin College) finishing at 3:19.52. USM took 2
nd place behind Austin College in the 3x100-yard backstroke relay with swimmers 
Olivia Kindle, 
Ava Steier and 
Rylee Randle finishing at 3:28.13. Another 1
st place finish came in dominant fashion in the 3x100-yard breaststroke relay with 
Ainsley Duell, 
Rilynn Guynes, and 
Reagan Salsbury finishing with a time of 3:52.42 with the next closest team finishing at 4:03.21. The Spires swept the 800-yard freestyle relay and the 500-yard freestyle relay with a time of 8:45.78 and 5:30.31 respectively brought in by a few familiar faces in 
Ava Steier, 
Kaitie Coleman, 
Rilynn Guynes, and 
Olivia Ringle, and 
Sania Cay, Ainsey Duell, 
Kaitie Coleman, and 
Taya Swarts in the 500-yard relay. The winning streak continued as the USM women's team took the top spot in the 400-yard medley relay, the 200-yard freestyle relay, the 3x500-yard freestyle relay, 400-yard medley relay 100 IM, and the 400-yard freestyle relay. Rounding out a hugely successful weekend in the pool before the Spires take a long break to recover and train for the KC Classic in Topeka, Kansas on Thursday, November 20
