Leavenworth, Kan.—Spire football wrapped up the 2025 season today against the Friends (KS) Falcons at Charles Berkel Memorial Stadium on Senior Night on Saturday, November 15
th. Despite a hopeful start, the Spires struggled to secure points, trailing by halftime with a score of 45-0 in favor of the Falcons.
USM struggled to slow the Falcons down right from the outset, with quarterback K'Vonte Baker scoring a 64-yard touchdown in the opening minute. Continuing their aggressive play, Friends saw multiple touchdowns from Baker, Nick Cordova, Walker Overman, Elon Conley, and Joey Millspaugh. Baker was particularly outstanding with a total of four touchdowns and 184 rushing yards, contributing significantly to the Falcons' offensive show. Cordova also made notable contributions, adding two touchdowns and accumulating 119 rushing yards.
On the Spires' side, offensive efforts were led by senior quarterback
Erick Covington with 86 passing yards and 3 rushing yards, alongside
Teralle Watson who amassed 21 rushing yards. The Spires' lone score came late in the fourth quarter, with a field goal kicked by
Bryce Godfrey.
The final senior day competition concluded with a frustrating final score of 69-3 in favor of Friends University, ending Saint Mary's season with a record to 3-8. The entire USM community wishes the best to the Spire seniors in all their future endeavors!
