USM Finishes 2025 in the Win Column

Lawrence, Kan.—University of Saint Mary Men's basketball spent their final day of 2025 in winning fashion with a commanding performance against Haskell Indian Nations on Thursday, December 31st in Lawrence, Kansas. Dominating from the outset, the Spires showcased a robust evening led by top scorers Kaeden Bonner and Cam Edwards, steering the team to an 81-48 win.

The first half was marked with an early lead as junior Kaeden Bonner opened scoring by finding the bottom of the net with a quick jumper, setting the tone for what the evening would bring. Bonner's exceptional three-point shooting further bolstered the Spires' offense, contributing to a significant first half lead for USM. By half time, Saint Mary had established a dominating 26-point lead with the scoreboard reading 48-22. Notable plays included a 3-pointer from Bonner, who went into the locker room with 16 points in the first, 9 points by Cam Edwards, 4 steals and 5 rebounds by Jordan Brown, 3 rebounds by Jason Parson and Joe Clark, emphasizing the Spires strength on both ends of the floor.

The second half saw the Spires sustaining their intense gameplay, with additional key plays, including a fast-break layup from Cam Edwards. The defensive strategy paid off as well, with multiple steals and crucial defensive stops that maintained their comfortable lead, peaking at 35 points.
