Bartlesville, Okla.—The #16 ranked Spire men's wrestling made the long trek to the Eagles home turf on the campus of Oklahoma Wesleyan University yesterday Friday, January 16
th to dual against the fellow KCAC opponents. USM made the trip well worth it however, sealing a powerful 42-6 victory.
Roman De La Cruz in the 133lb. weight-class started the Spires off hot with a pin over Wheeler of OKWU.
Bobby Burke (141lb.) followed this up with a MD win of his own (14-2) in the next round over Dement.
Ryan Buccat would put up a tough fight in the 149lb. weight-class but would fall by decision 9-6 over OKWU's Lopez.
USM would respond with grit, emerging victorious in the next five out of six final matches.
Josey Jernegan (157lb.) would pin the Eagles Velotta in a mere minute and a half, while Spire teammate Graham Killper (165lb.) and
Michael Ager (174lb.) would both claim major decision wins 16-3 and 8-0, respectively.
Orinn Hubbard would drop his match in the 184lb. weight-class but swiftly be picked up by teammate
Gabe Chesbro in the 197lb. weight-class with a 41-second pin over OKWU's Pride. In the final match of the evening,

USM will continue life on the road when they travel to Marshall, Missouri next Friday and Saturday, January 23
rd and 24
th where they'll compete in the Missouri Valley Invite, hosted by the Vikings.
