Maryville, Mo.— Spire T&F athletes had a showstopper weekend in Maryville at the Coach Alsup Open hosted by the Bearcats of Northwest Missouri State University.
A host of Spires etched their names in USM school record books. Freshman
Emily Struckman broke the school record in the shot put this weekend, throwing 11.57 meters breaking the previous mark held by Raelynn Denson from 2022 with a throw of 11.44M.

Omarion Udell broke his own school record in the 60-meter hurdles with a prelim time of 8.42 seconds with a finals time close behind that at 8.48 seconds. This head-turning finish lands Udell at #1 in KCAC and #39 in all of NAIA.
Senior
Josie Tyrrell earned herself another 1
st place finish with a 9:58.11 finish in the 3,000-meter race landing her at the very top of KCAC finishers and #5 overall in NAIA, adding to Tyrrell's already impressive career statistics in the Spire uniform.
The women's 4x4 relay punched their ticket to the National Tournament this weekend with a powerful 2
nd place finish and a finals time of 3:56.92. This speedy finish from athletes
Hope Crabtree,
Deslyne Cooper,
Keiyah Cole, and
Haley Sampson rightfully earned them a National B Standard.
Spire T&F will be on the road again this weekend to battle it out at the NAIA/JUCO Challenger hosted by the Pitt State Gorillas on Saturday, January 24
