Leavenworth, Kan.— Carlos Grimaldi of the University of Saint Mary has earned the KCAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week honors, the conference office announced Monday. Student-athletes are selected for their performances from April 6-12 by a vote of conference sports information directors. All KCAC Player of the Week honors are presented by Athletic Solutions.

Carlos won all five of his matches in what was a busy week for Spire tennis, sweeping three doubles and two singles victories while not dropping a single set in singles play.

Against the Avila Eagles Carlos and his doubles partner, Dueppe, swept AU in the No. 2 doubles spot. Similarly, against the Evangel Valor Carlos and Dargel Agote made quick work 6-2 of EU in the No. 3 doubles slot as well as a 6-2, 6-2 victory for Grimaldi in the No. 2 singles position. To round out his undefeated week was a victory in the No. 3 doubles position to earn a tough win over the McPherson College Bulldogs and another win at the No. 2 in singles play, defeating MC 6-0, 6-1 to earn his USM team a close 4-3 victory and close out their week at 3-0.

Carlos and his teammates will compete in their final regular season match this Saturday, April 18^th on the campus of Southwestern College with matches set to begin at noon in Winfield. The Spire men currently sit in third place in the conference standings.
