Saint Mary baseball traveled out to McPherson, KS to take on Central Christian on Tuesday. The Spires scored three runs in the first and never looked back taking a 15-1 victory. Saint Mary stole 11 bases including a straight steal of home by Davon Poole and pounded out 15 hits.
Jackson Perri and RJ Burrola each went three for four with four RBIs in the game. Perri would steal five bases. Jake Kolenda, Brett Bearden, and Davon Poole each had two hits. Patrick Swain, Parker Clough, and Sam Miller each had one hit. Saint Mary would have four doubles and a triple in the game.
Cade Brummer started on the mound and earned the win tossing four innings giving up just one run and striking out four. Ricardo Diaz pitched three innings in relief and allowed no runs. He struck out three.
The Spires will take on Avila in another nine inning game on Wednesday in Kansas City, MO. Saint Mary bested Avila in their previous matchup 11-3.
