Spires Women's Soccer Clipped by Kansas Wesleyan

Saint Mary women's soccer hosted Kansas Wesleyan on Saturday at Charles J. Berkel Memorial Stadium. Saint Mary entered the contest tied with the Coyotes at 3-3-1 in KCAC play.

The Spires got behind early as Kansas Wesleyan scored first in the 22nd minute. That would be all the scoring for the game as neither team found the back of the net the rest of the way.

The Spires would get off five shots in the match. After being out shot 8-0 in the first half, Saint Mary outshot Kansas Wesleyan 5-2 in the second. Jessica Ramirez played the first half in goal and made two saves while allowing one goal. Emilie Korenek played the second half and did not allow a goal.

Saint Mary now sits in a sixth place tie in the KCAC Standings with three games left to play in the regular season. The top eight in the KCAC Standings qualify for the KCAC Tournament.

The Spires will be back in action on Wednesday when they travel to take on McPherson at 5pm. McPherson is 6-7 on the season and 3-5 in KCAC play.
