The Saint Mary women's soccer team earned a 0-0 draw with Tabor at Charles J. Berkel Memorial Stadium on Tuesday night. With the draw, and Bethany's loss at Sterling last night, the women's soccer team finishes in eighth place of the KCAC Standings to earn them a berth in the KCAC Tournament.
Jessica Ramirez was solid in goal. Ramirez logged 110 minutes and made nine saves in the tie. Erica Hornbuckle led all shot takers in the match as she finished with five shots and three on goal. Megan McMillen and Claire Wilhoite each had four shots for the Spires as well. The Spires out shot the Blue Jays 19-14 in the match. Saint Mary also had 11 shots on goal to Tabor's nine.
Saint Mary will open the KCAC Tournament with the #1 seed, Oklahoma Wesleyan. The Eagles finish the regular season 11-0 in KCAC play and 16-1-1 overall. The game will be played in Bartlesville at Oklahoma Wesleyan. Higher seeds host all games in the KCAC Tournament. The Spires and the Eagles will face off on Saturday at 2pm.
