The Saint Mary baseball team saw their three game winning streak come to an end with a 12-2 loss at Benedictine on Tuesday. The Spires are now 6-20 on the season.
A three run first inning for the Ravens put the Spires behind early. Saint Mary would trail 5-2 entering the seventh inning, but three Saint Mary errors led to seven more runs for the Ravens in the seventh and eighth innings.
Alex Knight started on the mound and tossed five and two thirds innings for the Spires. He allowed five runs on nine hits while striking out four and walking none. Jordan Wilkerson and Adam Stebbins paced the offense with two hits each. Andrew Berry doubled and scored a run.
Saint Mary will return to KCAC play this weekend when they play a three game series at Ottawa on Saturday and Sunday. Games are slated to begin at 1pm each day.
