Leavenworth, Kan. – The University of Saint Mary women's basketball team came close to knocking off 19th ranked Tabor in a game that came down to a last second shot in Ryan Sports Center, Wednesday night. The Spires fell in the end, 60-57.
The Spires are now 2-9 overall and 1-7 KCAC.
GAME FLOW
The Spires came out ready against the 19th ranked Tabor Blue Jays. Saint Mary played with high intensity on both offense and defense which allowed them to lead 16-13 after the first quarter. Both teams shot over 42 percent in the first half and continued that well into the second half. Tabor led by as many as 10 before the Spires went on a run to get back to a one possession game. It was a great team effort all around as seven girls scored for the Spires. The game came down to the wire but Saint Mary was unable to pull off the upset.
