BETHEL, Kan. – The University of Saint Mary men's basketball team came back from a first half deficit, but came up short on the road to Bethel College Thursday night, 86-78.
Saint Mary is now 8-10 overall and 8-5 in the KCAC on the season. The Spires sit in a tie for fourth place in the conference.
GAME FLOW
The Spires found themselves down by double-digits in the first half, but were able to trim it to single digits at halftime, trailing 35-28. Jaylon Rucker opened up the second half with a long range shot to cut the deficit, while Raylon Howard and Teyvon Lundy each made buckets to give the Spires a strong second half start as Bethel led 37-35, just three minutes into the second half.
Cameron Southern and Dan Hailey would cap off an 11-5 run to break a 51-51 tie later on, as the Spires led 62-55 at the 8:59 mark. Bethel then sank three straight three-point shots to take a 64-62 lead and would hold onto the lead the rest of the way.

- Lundy led the Spires with a season high 24 points.
- Howard (7) and Hailey (6) led the Spires in rebounds as the team grabbed 27 total.
- Saint Mary shot 52.8 percent from the field.
