Baseball Prevails Against MNU

OLATHE, Kan. - The University of Saint Mary baseball team scored three runs in the ninth inning to break a 2-2 tie after coming back from four runs down to defeat MidAmerica Nazarene University Tuesday afternoon.

The win helped the team secure their 10th win of the season as they are now 10-19 overall.

The Spires fell behind early 1-0, but tied the score in the third inning when Peyton Garvin scores on a Pioneers' error. MNU woils take a 2-1 lead after a solo home run hit off Matt Weis gave MNU the lead. The Spires would climb back in it however, as seven batters came to the plate finished off with Matt Ladd scoring on a walk by MNU.

Saint Mary would then score three runs in the ninth and hold on for the win in the bottom half. Ladd led the team with two hits and Ashton Findley had a team high two RBI. Sergio Valenzuela picked up the win on the mound.

UP NEXT
Saint Mary will travel to Wichita, Kan. and play Friends University on Friday and Saturday. The action on Friday will begin at 4 p.m. with one game played.
